Criterion Catalyst was experiencing complications of a corrosive environment—which can deteriorate the existing coatings on the exterior side of a structure. The exposed steel of their silos and hand railings required sandblasting and the application of a specialty coating to prolong the life of each external structure and prevent future corrosion.
To restore these structures, the team at N.A. Logan first pressure washed and used a spot-hand clean tool (spot SSPC-SP2) on the areas of exposed steel to create an ideal profile for the specialty coating. Next, one spot prime coat of Sherwin Williams Corothane® Mio-Aluminum was applied followed by one full intermediate coat and one full final finish coat of Sherwin Williams Acrolon™ 218 HS Acrylic Polyurethane to the exterior of the four silos. To protect and restore the handrailing, one spot prime coat of Sherwin Williams Corothane® Mio-Aluminum, one intermediate coat of Sherwin Williams Macropoxy® 646 Fast Cure Epoxy, and one full final finish coat of Sherwin Williams Acrolon™ 218 HS Acrylic Polyurethane were also applied.
N.A. Logan delivered on the restoration of this structure by completing all essential steps of the cleaning and application process—ensuring the highest quality of workmanship to solve the client’s corrosion problem, protect the structure and extend its lifespan.
